Rev is seeking a hands-on, strategic Director, Corporate Controller to lead the accounting organization as the company scales. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the integrity of financial reporting, accounting operations, payroll, and month-end close while building processes, controls, and systems that support a fast-moving AI-native business.
Key responsibilities include leading the accounting function with accurate and timely financial reporting under US GAAP; owning monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with continuous improvement in speed, accuracy, and automation; preparing and reviewing financial statements and supporting schedules; developing and maintaining accounting policies and internal controls; and supporting external audits, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
You will ensure operational processes scale efficiently while maintaining strong financial controls, partnering with cross-functional teams to improve financial workflows and system integrations. You'll oversee payroll operations, accounts payable, revenue accounting, fixed assets, cash accounting, general ledger, and expense accounting, implementing systems where appropriate.
Team leadership is a core component: you will lead and mentor the Accounting Manager and additional finance team members, establishing goals, coaching, and career development plans while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
You will partner closely with the CFO on accounting strategy, financial planning, cash management, and special projects; coordinate with the Director of Order-to-Cash on billing, collections, revenue recognition, and accounting; collaborate with People & Talent on payroll, benefits accounting, equity compensation, and employee-related financial processes; and support board reporting, investor diligence, and strategic initiatives.
Driving automation and AI-enabled improvements across accounting operations is essential. You will evaluate and implement best practices that improve efficiency and reduce manual work, and partner on ERP, payroll, and financial systems enhancements.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred), 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership experience, experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a high-growth technology or SaaS company, strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606), experience managing month-end close and external audits, experience overseeing payroll, AP, and general accounting operations, a strong systems mindset with experience improving financial processes through automation, excellent communication skills, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Nice-to-have qualifications include CPA certification, Big Four or national firm public accounting background, experience with SaaS subscription revenue and usage-based billing, equity accounting and stock compensation experience, experience with modern ERP and financial systems, and passion for leveraging AI and automation to improve finance operations.
