Salary: USD 160,000 - 180,000 / annual

Metropolis Technologies is building AI and computer vision technology to transform parking and expand into retail and hospitality. The company is pioneering the "Recognition Economy" — a future where AI makes the real world responsive and seamless. You will join as Director, Business Development, owning a regional territory (San Francisco) and driving net-new business growth. This is a key individual contributor role focused on the full sales cycle: prospecting, relationship development, deal negotiation, and closing. You'll identify opportunities through cold outreach and networking, conduct discovery sessions, deliver customized proposals, and manage complex, multi-threaded deals with real estate partners and asset managers. Responsibilities include: - Own full sales cycle in assigned San Francisco territory from prospecting through close - Identify and develop net-new business opportunities via multiple channels - Use consultative selling to uncover pain points and create solution-oriented proposals - Lead client presentations and discovery sessions - Build relationships across key stakeholder groups - Work cross-functionally with underwriting, financial modeling, marketing, operations, and legal teams - Monitor pipeline and sales metrics in CRM - Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies - Travel regionally to support clients and prospecting The role requires 4 days per week in-office collaboration at Metropolis's San Francisco location. Requirements: - 8+ years in B2B business development, sales, or related roles - Experience selling into asset managers, ownership groups, or real estate partners - Demonstrated ability to create new relationships and leverage existing networks to generate opportunities and accelerate deal velocity - Strong understanding of P&L and creative deal structuring - Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in net-new, greenfield territories - Skilled in managing complex, multi-threaded deals with strong negotiation and closing capabilities - Creative approach to communicating value propositions across diverse audiences - Data-literate with experience in pipeline management and forecasting - Proficient in sales tools and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) - Ability to travel regionally Plus (not required): - Experience selling within proptech, mobility, or related industries
