DailyPay is the leader in On-Demand Pay, serving over 1,900 employers and 6 million employees. The company modernizes how people access earned pay and financial wellness tools.
You will serve as Director of Business Development, reporting to the VP of Partnerships & International, with full ownership of net-new platform partnerships across three core motions:
1. Resell Partnerships: Source, qualify, and close resell partners across payroll, HCM, and adjacent platforms, primarily targeting SMB and downmarket employers. You will build and maintain a prioritized market map of candidate platforms, negotiate commercial frameworks (revenue economics, activation commitments, go-to-market obligations), and contribute directly to annual partner launch targets and bookings plans.
2. Strategic Embedded Partnerships: Pursue preferred and exclusive partnerships with high-ICP workforce management (WFM) platforms in hourly, high-turnover verticals (hospitality, QSR, healthcare, homecare). Structure deals combining co-sell rights with embedded or co-branded DailyPay experiences. Navigate competitive dynamics and build displacement strategies where warranted.
3. Integration Partnerships: Partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering to identify and close integrations that expand DailyPay's platform connectivity. Scope technical requirements and translate feasibility into commercial terms.
You will own the full deal lifecycle from market mapping and outbound sourcing through commercial negotiation, executive alignment, and launch handoff. You will run a disciplined pipeline with clear stage gates and forecasting, lead internal alignment across Legal, Finance, Product, and Operations, and serve as the executive-level point of contact for prospective partners.
Required: 8+ years in business development, strategic partnerships, or channel sales with a track record of sourcing and closing complex, multi-party platform deals. Deep familiarity with payroll, HCM, WFM, or adjacent technology ecosystems. Strong commercial instincts and ability to structure creative deal frameworks. Executive communication skills and self-directed outbound motion capability. Ability to lead through influence across cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-haves: HR Tech, embedded finance, EWA, or fintech background. Experience with WFM platforms in hourly verticals. Prior experience building or scaling resell, white-label, or embedded distribution programs. Familiarity with API-based integration scoping and platform marketplace dynamics.
