Zelis is modernizing the healthcare financial experience across payers, providers, and healthcare consumers, serving over 750 payers including the top five national health plans and millions of providers and consumers. This Director role leads the strategic direction, development, and implementation of the company's data architecture and business intelligence initiatives.
You will develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives, driving competitive advantage through data-driven decision-making. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable data architectures and BI solutions, overseeing enterprise data architecture to ensure integrity and security, and implementing best practices for data modeling, integration, and governance. You'll lead the development and deployment of BI tools and platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) enabling self-service analytics across the organization, creating dashboards and visualizations that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
You will build and lead a high-performing team of data architects, data engineers, BI analysts, and managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. You'll establish and enforce data governance policies ensuring data quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance, working closely with legal and compliance teams on data privacy and security. Cross-functional collaboration with IT, finance, marketing, and operations is essential to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions. You'll act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on data-related matters, communicating complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of experience (or 10+ with a Master's degree), with demonstrated accomplishment in designing and implementing enterprise data architectures and BI solutions. Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling, and governance is required. Proficiency with BI tools and data management technologies (SQL, Hadoop, Spark) is essential. You must be skilled with AI tools and capable of developing intelligent prompts and agents. Strong financial and operational management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence executive stakeholders are critical. Experience with organizational design and change management is valued. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, along with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
