Snowflake is seeking an experienced Director, Assistant General Counsel - Litigation to join its Legal team. This role manages a diverse portfolio of litigation matters, serves as a trusted advisor to the business, and supervises one in-house litigation counsel. The position reports to Snowflake's Senior Director, Associate General Counsel - Employment & Litigation. Key responsibilities include managing disputes and litigation matters across their full lifecycle from initial assessment through resolution, working collaboratively with the Legal team, outside counsel, and cross-functional stakeholders. You will lead and manage internal investigations on matters involving legal risks, coordinate responses to subpoenas, garnishment orders, domestic relations orders, statutory requests, and government/law enforcement inquiries. The role involves reviewing and advising on litigation-related contractual provisions including dispute resolution, governing law, venue, arbitration, limitation of liability, and indemnification clauses. You will advise business stakeholders on litigation risks and issues in business disputes, pragmatically weighing legal risks and benefits while proposing practical, business-oriented solutions. The role includes managing outside counsel relationships, including matter staffing, billing review, and strategic direction of litigation. You will partner with privacy counsel and other specialists on disputes involving data, security, or regulatory matters. Process and infrastructure responsibilities include leading efforts to create, improve, and scale processes and procedures for handling litigation matters in a rapidly growing, global company. This includes developing litigation hold protocols, matter tracking, reporting, and knowledge management systems. You will partner with legal operations on litigation-related technology, data, and workflow improvements, and develop internal resources, templates, and playbooks to support consistent and efficient litigation management. Requirements: JD from an accredited law school, active membership in at least one state bar, and ability to practice in the jurisdiction of the position. Minimum 8 years of legal experience with substantive in-house litigation management and law firm experience; people management experience is a plus. Proven experience managing complex litigation matters (class action experience a plus). Demonstrated ability to manage outside counsel, control litigation budgets, and set case strategy. Experience conducting and coordinating internal investigations, managing responses to subpoenas and government/law enforcement inquiries. Ability to explain complicated legal concepts in plain language. Strong organizational skills, exceptional judgment, and comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Must foster team collaboration through high-quality work, positive attitude, and clear, solution-focused communication.
