Oscar Health is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead accounting operations for recently acquired businesses and related platform operations. This role reports to the Deputy Controller and sits at the center of Oscar's M&A integration strategy, overseeing the accounting and financial operations integration of new acquisitions into Oscar's systems and processes.
You will own end-to-end accounting for acquired businesses, including monthly and quarterly close cycles, reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and control documentation. You will manage accounting and financial operations integrations, including process design, systems and data mapping, subledger flows, and cross-functional handoffs. For insurance-adjacent acquired businesses, you will lead AR/AP accounting, insurance AMS accounting structure, data design, and reporting outputs needed by business and FP&A teams.
Your responsibilities extend to SaaS and technology-enabled insurance platforms, where you will oversee revenue, receivables, partner activity, and related platform accounting processes. You will prepare and review flux and variance analytics for acquired businesses and platform operations, communicating key drivers and risks to Finance leadership and business stakeholders. You will also support accounting for future M&A activity, including diligence input, close-readiness, policy and control alignment, systems and data integration, and post-close accounting operations.
You will develop scalable policies, close calendars, reconciliations, controls, and process documentation, partnering with Finance Operations, FP&A, Product/Engineering, Legal, Tax, and external auditors as needed.
