Datadog is seeking a Developer Advocate for Service Management in the EMEA region, based in Paris. This role bridges engineering expertise and community engagement, focusing on incident response, on-call management, and operational automation.
You will serve as a subject matter expert for Datadog's service management capabilities (incident response, on-call, IDP, Work Management, Workflow Automation, Agent Builder, and operational automation), working with both internal advocacy and engineering teams. Your responsibilities include:
- Creating compelling content across multiple mediums (demos, blog posts, documentation, webinars, open-source contributions, research reports, public speaking) to establish Datadog as a leader in DevOps, monitoring, observability, and security
- Partnering with product engineering teams to build demos and coaching internal teams on effective communication and presentation skills
- Engaging with open-source communities to drive key messaging and develop new integrations
- Contributing to product improvements through feedback, documentation, or code contributions
- Interfacing with practitioners and leaders across the SRE, DevOps, and Operations communities

REQUIREMENTS:
- Approximately 5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Software Developer with hands-on experience as an on-call/incident responder and running production systems in complex IT environments
- Strong understanding of core service-management practices (incident response, on-call, post-incident reviews, SLOs) and experience with tools like Datadog, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, incident.io, Rootly, Jira Cloud Platform, Cortex, or similar
- Ability to navigate operational challenges across different-sized organizations
- Passion for helping teams solve both technical and organizational challenges
- Approximately 2+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content (written content, conference speaking at SREcon/DevOpsDays/SREday, workshops, live streaming, video recording, open-source contributions, community participation)
- Publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or presentation recordings on technical topics
- Comfort with at least one scripting/programming language (Node.js, Python, Go, bash) and familiarity with APIs, IaaS cloud services, and containers
- Self-driven approach to exploring and learning new technologies
