Meesho, a rapidly growing e-commerce platform in India, is seeking a Deputy Manager for Revenue Intelligence and Governance to join its 50+ person Finance team. You will work alongside Chartered Accountants, business experts, and engineers who have experience at internationally renowned organizations.
In this role, you will analyze revenue and collection processes, identify and resolve financial leakages, and collaborate with business, product, and finance stakeholders to ensure revenue accuracy and completeness. You will be responsible for validating Meesho's control framework to ensure its relevance and effectiveness, and will lead the setup of finance processes for new strategic revenue lines by partnering with business and product teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Critically validate the company's revenue control framework on an ongoing basis
- Lead process setup for new strategic revenue lines in partnership with business and product stakeholders
- Minimize revenue leakages through root cause analysis, collaboration with product and analytics teams, and automation implementation
- Strengthen revenue collection processes and supervise remittances from external partners (logistics, payment gateways)
- Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition closure activities
- Perform 3-way reconciliation between Revenue, Collection, and agreed SLAs
- Drive improvements and develop automation for revenue-related tasks and workflows
- Work cross-functionally to address variations at the root cause level
- Set up processes and controls for new revenue streams to ensure zero leakages
- Prepare accounting memos on new revenue streams for compliance with accounting standards
- Independently handle statutory and internal audits for assigned areas
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) certification
- 2–3 years of professional experience
- Prior startup experience in a similar role involving Revenue Analysis, FP&A, or Business Finance
- Strong understanding of and ability to apply technical accounting guidance for revenue recognition
- Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
- Articleship experience in Big 4 firms preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to confidently interact with business stakeholders and lead issue resolution
- Ability to multitask, think critically, and execute tactically
- Proven track record of finding innovative solutions to problems
