Salary: USD 310,000 - 345,000 / annual

The Deputy General Counsel will report to the General Counsel and lead key areas of Cadence's legal function, including commercial contracting, healthcare regulatory compliance, labor and employment, insurance, intellectual property, and strategic legal priorities. This is a senior leadership role requiring both strategic and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include: leading core legal practice areas; managing and developing a team of attorneys through coaching, feedback, and performance evaluation; running legal team meetings with clear agendas and accountability; tracking all legal projects, deadlines, risks, and dependencies; overseeing commercial contracting workflows to improve speed and consistency; managing outside counsel relationships and legal budgets; partnering with the General Counsel on strategic risk decisions; and coordinating with the Chief Compliance Officer on legal, compliance, risk, and governance matters. Required qualifications: JD from accredited law school with active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; 10+ years of legal experience including in-house leadership in high-growth, regulated, healthcare, technology, or care delivery environments; strong experience in commercial contracting, healthcare regulatory matters, and legal operations; working knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations (Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, Civil Monetary Penalties Law, clinical licensure, scope-of-practice); demonstrated ability to manage and develop attorneys; excellent judgment on legal and business risk; experience managing outside counsel and legal budgets; comfort in fast-moving environments requiring rigor, responsiveness, and commercial practicality; fluency with AI research and productivity tools.
