As a Deployment Strategist, you will own customer adoption and growth by managing the deployment and successful release of AI infrastructure for enterprise accounts. You'll take customers from proof-of-value to enterprise-wide deployment, owning a book of enterprise accounts and measured on net dollar retention.
Key responsibilities:
- Scale proof-of-value into production: Own the path from initial deployment to widespread adoption while Forward Deployed Engineers handle technical rollout
- Unite stakeholders: Run working cadences with customer security, IT, infrastructure, and AI teams; connect business and technical leaders
- Lead at executive level: Plan and run QBRs, readouts, and enablement sessions with AEs, translating deployment progress for CISOs, CTOs, and AI transformation leaders
- Know the product deeply: Answer customer questions, walk through features, and translate AI goals into concrete deployment plans
- Own account health: Monitor accounts consistently, triage technical issues, and act on risk proactively
- Drive retention and expansion: Share renewal and upsell responsibility with AEs; own renewal readiness and spot expansion opportunities
- Improve playbooks: Share field learnings with Product and Sales to reduce deployment friction
You'll work closely with Account Executives on growth and renewals and with Forward Deployed Engineers who run technical rollouts. As one of Runlayer's founding Deployment Strategists, you'll define how the company scales customers and take early accounts through renewal.

- Executive presence: run business reviews and enablement sessions with security, IT, and AI leaders up to CISO/CTO level; move between technical detail and executive narrative
- Clear writing: account plans, handoff notes, and tickets engineers can act on without follow-up
BONUS:
- Active GitHub, side projects, or hobby projects built with AI
- Experience at AI or data platform company
- Post-sale experience at security, identity, or developer infrastructure company
- Supported self-hosted products on AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform
