Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform, enabling users to trade on real-world outcomes across politics, economics, sports, and current affairs. The Global Intelligence & Investigations team is responsible for detecting, investigating, and remediating insider trading, market manipulation, oracle manipulation, coordinated wallet activity, automated-trading abuse, sanctions exposure, and fraud.
In this role, you will triage incoming alerts and referrals daily against documented investigation thresholds, setting priorities and next steps. You'll trace flagged wallets across blockchain chains, bridges, and funding flows, distinguishing controlling wallets from contract and proxy wallets, clustering related addresses, and following withdrawal paths to documented disposition.
You will review order-book and execution data for spoofing, layering, wash trading, and coordinated multi-account activity, working from trade-surveillance alerts and metrics like order-to-trade and cancellation ratios. You'll investigate the full range of manipulation risk including insider trading, oracle and resolution-source manipulation, bot and automated-trading abuse, sanctions exposure, and illicit-finance flows.
The role requires writing queries, building lightweight analysis, and proposing new detection signals based on daily observations. You'll document every matter with clear, sourced findings framed as suspected rather than confirmed, ensuring audit-readiness from file opening. You'll also handle law enforcement and regulatory requests (subpoenas, preservation letters, court orders) against binding deadlines, tracking matters and escalating unusual items to legal counsel.
Required qualifications include 3+ years in trade surveillance, on-chain investigations, blockchain analytics, financial crime investigation, or exchange operations. You must have hands-on wallet tracing experience, solid working knowledge of order-book manipulation typologies, and proficiency in SQL or comparable query languages. Strong written communication for case documentation and genuine familiarity with prediction markets and crypto-native platforms are essential. Preferred qualifications include depth with blockchain analytics platforms (Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic), automated trade-surveillance platforms (Nasdaq SMARTS), oracle and market-resolution mechanism familiarity, regulated financial environment experience, and Python scripting skills.
