Salary: USD 340,000 - 510,000 / annual
Netflix's Member Insights Engineering team is seeking a Senior Data Visualization Engineer to own and evolve the company's core data products. You'll partner with analytics engineers, data scientists, and product managers to transform complex streaming data into intuitive, actionable visualizations that inform executive decision-making and drive business impact.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior technical teams to design and build exceptional data experiences. You'll take ownership of technical problems in the codebase, improve engineering velocity through best practices in testing and component design, and help the team address ad hoc business-critical questions. You'll have the opportunity to explore emerging technologies, including generative AI, and contribute ideas on how to integrate these capabilities into Netflix's products.
You'll learn the member business deeply, establishing yourself as a trusted technical partner to stakeholders across the organization. This is a role for someone with deep curiosity, high agency, and a passion for making complex data accessible and beautiful.
Required qualifications include strong front-end engineering skills (Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Vue.js), foundational data visualization expertise (understanding chart types, color theory, information hierarchy), and experience with D3 or similar visualization libraries. You should be comfortable querying data using SQL or GraphQL, have basic statistical intuition, and understand the principles of effective data communication.
You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy cross-functional partnerships, and are open to feedback. You think like a product person, interested in the full lifecycle of building excellent products and translating user feedback into features. Experience with or curiosity about generative AI tooling is valued.
