Salary: USD 285,000 - 380,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking a Data Scientist to join its growing Data Science and Analytics team. You will drive data-informed decision-making across the organization, playing a critical role in shaping the company's strategy as it deploys safe, frontier AI at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct deep dives into product and user data to derive actionable insights and identify opportunities to improve products, strategy, and operations
- Develop hypotheses and apply rigorous causal inference methods (controlled experiments, synthetic controls) to make evidence-based recommendations
- Investigate anomalies and conduct root cause analyses to guide priorities
- Define core metrics, build measurement frameworks, and maintain reporting dashboards
- Build statistical models, optimization frameworks, and simulations to automate decision-making and operational processes
- Present complex technical analyses to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Establish foundational data practices and help scale analytics infrastructure
You should have 7+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles, with deep expertise in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools. Strong background in experimental design, causal inference, statistical modeling, and A/B testing in high-scale technical environments is essential. Excellent written communication and presentation skills are required. Experience with AI/ML products, large language models, or developer tools in the AI/ML ecosystem is preferred. You thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and are passionate about building helpful, honest, and harmless AI systems.
