Fanatics is a global digital sports platform with over 22,000 employees, operating across commerce, collectibles, and betting & gaming. Fanatics Betting and Gaming, launched in 2021, is the online and retail sports betting subsidiary, with the Sportsbook available to 95% of the addressable US online sports bettor market and Casino operations in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The division operates 22 retail sports betting locations and is headquartered in New York with offices in Denver, Leeds, and Dublin.
You will join the newly formed Data Science team reporting to the Data Science Director. This role focuses on creating insights to drive business growth, partnering closely with senior commercial stakeholders across Sportsbook and Casino business units.
Key responsibilities include developing deep understanding of the iGaming ecosystem (Sportsbook and Casino products, operations, and player behavior); building strong relationships with stakeholders across sports and casino units as a technical contributor to commercial performance; collaborating with other data scientists and analysts to implement scalable solutions for complex iGaming business problems; contributing to development, deployment, and iterative improvement of automated personalization and promotion engines; and staying current on technology, machine learning trends, and competitive shifts in global sports betting and gaming.
Required qualifications: 0-2 years proven experience in data science or advanced analytics; degree in quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics); strong SQL and Python proficiency with experience building and validating machine learning models; strong understanding of statistics concepts (regression, clustering, A/B testing) in high-growth environments; demonstrated ability to partner with stakeholders through data-driven insights and clear communication; outcome-oriented and comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
Preferred: experience experimenting with Generative AI solutions (LLM-based analysis, automation, insight generation); previous iGaming experience (Sportsbook or Casino); expertise in experimental design and causal inference (A/B/n testing, quasi-experiments, uplift modeling).
