Notion is hiring a Data Scientist for the Growth organization to drive product decisions through statistical rigor and experimentation. In this role, you'll apply expertise in statistical inference and A/B testing to measure the impact of product changes and identify growth opportunities. You'll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing leaders to shape strategy and roadmap, exploring ambiguous problems and translating raw data into actionable insights. Key responsibilities include designing and analyzing experiments to validate hypotheses, building foundational datasets and dashboards to track north star and operational metrics, and communicating findings to influence product and business decisions. You'll own the full lifecycle of data science work—from defining metrics and building datasets when they don't exist, to delivering insights that drive measurable impact. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by business outcomes. Required skills include proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (Python or R), strong statistical inference and experimentation methodology, and the ability to transform raw data into structured datasets. You'll balance speed and accuracy, choosing the right tools for efficiency. Nice-to-have experience includes work at fast-growing startups, B2B SaaS companies, acting as a thought partner to leadership on data-driven decisions, and building predictive models. Notion values intellectual curiosity, tinkering, and using AI as a real collaborator in your work. The company is committed to diversity and welcomes applications from candidates whose backgrounds don't perfectly match every bullet point.
