You will join the Paris team as a Data Scientist, working at the intersection of product, research, and engineering. Your primary focus will be analyzing user behavior, optimizing product performance, and designing data-driven features for Mistral's AI product suite.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining key metrics and deeply understanding the performance of AI products to identify improvement opportunities
- Designing and analyzing experiments (A/B tests, causal inference) to validate hypotheses and guide product decisions
- Implementing end-to-end data science projects from data collection and preprocessing through model building, evaluation, and deployment
- Evaluating model performance in both training and production environments, identifying edge cases, and developing frameworks to measure user satisfaction
- Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure data quality and accessibility for analytics and ML work
- Mentoring peers and sharing best practices (depending on seniority level)
Required qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Strong product acumen combined with technical depth
- Experience extracting insights from large, complex datasets and communicating findings to product and engineering teams
- Strong statistical intuition with hands-on experience in experimental design, causal inference, and machine learning algorithms
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Creative, curious mindset with passion for exploring innovative data applications
