Jerry is a fintech platform managing car and home ownership—insurance, maintenance, repairs, and driving insights. With 5M+ customers, $240M+ raised, and profitability achieved in early 2024, the company is scaling toward 50M customers and $10B valuation over the next four years.
The Data Science & Analytics team is composed of former McKinsey, BCG, and Bain consultants who drive insights across product, growth, tech, and operations. Each team member is embedded within a business unit, owning the analytical function end-to-end rather than simply running analyses and building dashboards.
In this role, you will be embedded in one of Jerry's core business areas—Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, or Strategic Partnerships—and own the analytical function for that unit. Your responsibilities include:
• Define the right problems: Understand what business question an analysis answers and what decision it informs. Push back on flawed questions.
• Data and insights: Define metrics, build reports, run analyses, design experiments, and surface insights that move key metrics.
• Drive outcomes: Bring recommendations to product, growth, finance, or operations counterparts; explain what's happening, why, and what next steps should be.
You are a first-principles thinker who breaks ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses before touching data. You're analytically strong (SQL or Python), but your instinct is to ask "what are we trying to solve?" before "what should I build?" You communicate directly and persuasively, walking skeptical stakeholders through complex findings to get buy-in. You act like your name is on the door—if something is broken, you feel responsible for fixing it.
Required: 2+ years at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth tech company. Strong analytical skills; ability to pull, structure, and interpret data independently. Track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering impact. Clear, persuasive communication that influences leadership-level decisions.
