Cognite is a leading industrial digitalization company building AI and data solutions for heavy industries including Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Pharma, Power & Utilities, and Life Sciences. As a Data Scientist in the EMEA Delivery team, you will collaborate with cross-functional experts—Data Engineers, Solution Architects, and Project Managers—to deploy and scale digital transformation solutions for industry leaders.
Your responsibilities will include developing and deploying scalable solutions for customer use cases, participating in intensive use case generation workshops with subject matter experts, and performing data cleansing and exploratory data analysis. You will implement physical and machine learning models in Python and deploy them to Cognite's model hosting environment. The role involves applying GenAI techniques to enhance data-driven decision-making, developing web applications built on Cognite Data Fusion with AI agents, and utilizing solution templates and best practices within the Data Science team.
You will work directly with industry leaders to drive digital transformation by leading client discovery workshops, uncovering insights from complex data, and operationalizing scalable solutions that make heavy assets more efficient and sustainable. Collaboration with data engineers, project managers, and solution architects is essential for enabling customers to achieve the full potential of Cognite's industrial DataOps platform.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. You need 1-3 years of relevant work experience as a data scientist, preferably within related industries. Proficiency with Python, SQL, and AI IDEs such as Claude Code or Cursor is required, with experience in efficient usage of AI tools being a plus. You should have experience with machine learning methods, statistics, optimization, and Git. Customer-facing experience and comfort working in cross-functional teams are essential.
