Trustpilot is a profitable, high-growth FTSE-250 company operating the world's largest open customer review platform. The Trust Technology team combines Data Science and Engineering to safeguard platform integrity by eliminating fraudulent reviews and detecting suspect behavior.
You will lead two cross-functional teams: Data Scientists who research and design ML solutions for trust-specific problems, and Engineers who build scalable infrastructure to operationalize detections. Your responsibilities include:
**Team Leadership & Execution**: Lead and empower teams dedicated to automated content moderation and fake review detection. Foster technical excellence, support career progression, and create a transparent, accountable, and safe work environment.
**Delivery & Research Ownership**: Own delivery across key initiatives, balancing ambitious ML research with sustainable engineering practices, operational resilience, and Trust OKRs.
**Planning & Scoping**: Facilitate technical scoping, estimation, and prioritization in collaboration with product and cross-functional partners.
**Stakeholder & Talent Management**: Partner with Trust Tech leadership to engage, develop, and retain talent while managing clear communication of issues, risks, dependencies, and progress.
**Required Background**: You bring experience in complex technical domains (fraud detection, healthcare ML, computer vision, autonomous systems, or large-scale LLM deployment). You have a proven track record delivering scalable systems with multiple connected services incorporating ML/AI components from concept through production. You have practical experience with high-volume live inference and cloud-based ML training on large-scale datasets, particularly GCP. You are skilled at training production models with mixed-quality labels and optimizing for low false-positive tolerance. You have managed data science and cross-functional engineering teams with high delivery velocity, taking full operational responsibility for production services. You maintain hands-on technical proficiency with dedicated time for hands-on work to stay current with modern AI/ML approaches. You excel at coaching, mentoring, and growing individuals while building strong stakeholder relationships.
