You will lead Clay's Data Science and Analytics (DSA) team, a center of excellence for experimentation, metric design, insights, and data-driven decision-making across Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Partnerships. This is a strategic leadership role where you'll partner with executives to inform product and business strategy using data, set the internal narrative, and multiply the team's influence on one of the fastest-growing AI businesses.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop a team of data scientists and analytics engineers; recruit, interview, and onboard top talent as the team scales
- Set technical standards for experimentation, analysis, insights, metric design, and data modeling; ensure Clay remains at the forefront of AI innovations in data science
- Ensure the team focuses on high-impact work that changes decisions and meaningfully affects business trajectory
- Strategically partner across the business to prioritize staffing and ensure key stakeholders have necessary support, tooling, and insights
- Shape product and business strategy by identifying opportunity sizes, proactively analyzing new directions, and setting the internal narrative with data
- Define key measurement frameworks and business/product goals; lead development and championing of critical metrics
- Develop deep understanding of Clay users, buyers, and prospects through partnership with UXR and customer feedback teams
The DSA team has strong foundations and is at the forefront of AI for data—the team has built an in-house AI agent called "Monty" that has essentially solved the self-serve analytics problem. You'll be a strong leader with excellent data intuition, product and business acumen, and data storytelling skills who can amplify this team's strategic influence.
