OpenFX is building infrastructure to enable cross-border payments at scale, moving money as freely as data across time zones and legacy banking systems. The company is backed by top-tier investors (Accel, Lightspeed, NfX) and has assembled a team with experience from JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, FalconX, PayPal, Affirm, Polygon, Kraken, and Nium.
You will build and lead the analytics function from the ground up, establishing core data infrastructure and delivering actionable insights across all teams. This is a foundational role that will shape how the organization makes data-driven decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
**Data Infrastructure & Governance:** Design and implement core analytics infrastructure including data warehousing, ETL processes, and visualization tools. Establish data quality standards, automate routine reporting, and create self-service analytics tools.
**Business Intelligence & Insights:** Create dashboards for key business metrics across operations, finance, partnerships, and growth. Develop comprehensive analytics for transaction monitoring, liquidity optimization, platform performance, and revenue forecasting. Analyze user behavior and transaction patterns to drive growth.
**Risk & Financial Analytics:** Build pricing optimization and financial planning models. Create risk monitoring systems and fraud detection analytics.
**Team Leadership:** Partner with leadership on data-driven strategy. Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing analytics team as the organization scales.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. 6+ years in analytics or data science roles. Strong Python and SQL skills. Experience with modern data stack tools (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow). Proven track record building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines. Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
Standout qualifications: Master's degree, fintech or financial services background, crypto/blockchain analytics experience, startup experience, expertise with Tableau or Looker.
