As Data Protection Manager, you will own data protection strategy and execution across the organization. Your responsibilities include managing incoming data protection inquiries from customers and their data protection officers, maintaining the company's GDPR compliance foundation (retention policies, records of processing activities, technical and organizational measures), and ensuring implementation across teams.
You will maintain an up-to-date understanding of how customer data flows through the product by working closely with technical leads. Contract review is a key responsibility—you'll evaluate vendor contracts and data processing agreements (DPA/AVV) and support negotiations. You'll also maintain data protection documentation in the trust center and serve as the primary interface to the external Data Protection Officer.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on data protection experience with strong GDPR specialization and familiarity with modern SaaS environments, including AI-powered products. You should be comfortable assessing and structuring compliant use of international sub-processors. You need a solid understanding of how data flows through software products and the curiosity to keep that picture current as the company evolves.
You approach data protection with structured thinking—building processes and policies while understanding how data protection connects to information security, quality, and regulatory topics. A pragmatic, creative mindset is essential; you find compliant solutions, explain them clearly, and enjoy hands-on ownership in a fast-changing environment. Business-fluent English is required; German is a plus.
