Patlytics is an AI-native patent intelligence platform using custom-built LLMs and generative AI to transform intellectual property protection and monetization. Fresh off a $40M Series B led by SignalFire, the company is scaling rapidly across product, engineering, and go-to-market.
As Data Engineering Lead, you will own the complete data warehouse and surrounding infrastructure—pipelines, data models, billing metering, and company-wide reporting. This is a hands-on technical role with leadership scope: you'll write production code, set architecture standards, and grow into leading the data engineering team as it expands.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and operate the data warehouse and transformation layer (schema, performance, cost optimization)
- Build and maintain ingestion pipelines with a focus on reliability
- Design and own data models for usage metering and billing systems
- Establish BI and reporting infrastructure so leadership, product, and GTM teams can self-serve analytics
- Set and enforce standards for data quality, testing, documentation, and monitoring
- Partner with the CTO on instrumentation strategy and translate business questions into actionable data models
You bring proven production experience building and operating data warehouses (Snowflake, dbt, Redshift, or equivalent), hands-on expertise with BI/visualization tools and their underlying data models, and prior experience supporting billing systems. Strong Python and advanced SQL skills are essential. You have a track record of driving problems from ambiguity to resolution and prefer leading through technical direction and influence rather than headcount. A product mindset—thinking about how data will be used and partnering with stakeholders—is critical.
Bonus experience includes front-end development for internal tools and reporting interfaces.
