Mistral is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its team in Paris. The company provides full-stack AI solutions—from frontier models to developer tools, applications, and compute—partnering with enterprises across finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector to co-create customized AI systems.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and analytics infrastructure that supports both product teams and the science team. You'll work with large volumes of data, ensuring secure and reliable access while enabling machine learning teams to train and deploy models effectively. Key responsibilities include automating data quality checks, optimizing data storage and retrieval for performance and cost-efficiency, defining data governance and metadata management standards, and ensuring data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including machine learning engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders—to understand data needs and deliver actionable solutions. Your work will directly support the enhancement of Mistral's state-of-the-art AI models and enable informed business decision-making.
Required qualifications include 10+ years of data engineering experience, proficiency in Python and SQL, and hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Clickhouse). Experience with dbt is valued. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences are essential.
