N26 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Experience Team within Platform Engineering. The role focuses on architecting and operating highly scalable, secure, and compliant infrastructure solutions that manage N26's core database offering and data storage capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
• Build and maintain platform solutions that improve reliability, security, and scalability of the Database Platform infrastructure
• Apply cloud infrastructure, networking, and CI/CD best practices to support operational data storage solutions
• Collaborate with Product & Analytics teams to facilitate seamless orchestration, access, and metadata management
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to documentation, fostering transparency and continuous learning
• Deliver high-quality code and infrastructure improvements aligned with the team's roadmap
• Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshooting to maintain stable, predictable environments
• Maintain and enhance observability solutions (metrics, logging, tracing) to ensure platform meets SLOs and availability targets
Required qualifications:
• Hands-on experience maintaining cloud-based infrastructure, particularly AWS
• Proficiency with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS)
• Strong infrastructure-as-code skills (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Competence in at least one programming language, preferably Python
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or similar)
• Experience with modern data transformation tools, particularly dbt
• Expertise in workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow
• Familiarity with networking and security best practices in cloud environments
• Familiarity with observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
Nice-to-have skills include database internals knowledge, backend engineering experience, and familiarity with metadata platforms like OpenMetadata.
