amo is hiring a Data Engineer to build and maintain data pipelines focused on place and location data. You'll work with large geospatial datasets, real-world signals, and entity data to power location-based services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and building data pipelines for place and location-related data
- Working with noisy real-world signals and large geospatial datasets
- Improving data quality, reliability, and observability of derived datasets
- Defining metrics and feedback loops for data quality and attribution
- Prototyping solutions in Python, SQL, and notebooks
- Integrating production experiments with amo's backend systems
- Running offline evaluations and A/B tests
Required experience:
- Strong Python and SQL skills with production experience
- Hands-on work with PySpark, Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, Parquet, and Iceberg
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines
- Familiarity with geospatial data, POI datasets, place matching, or similar real-world entity resolution
- Comfort with metrics, experimentation frameworks, and data quality measurement
- Ability to work near backend systems and read production code
Nice-to-have skills include experience in maps, mobility, local search, ranking/recommendations, embeddings, entity resolution, stream processing systems like Flink, or Rust-backed systems.
amo operates on a 5-day onsite model in central Paris near Opera with a modern office featuring natural light and high ceilings.
