Emburse is seeking a Data Engineer III to join its Platform Analytics team in Barcelona. You will design and build data pipelines and systems that power Emburse's AI-driven travel and expense management platform, serving enterprise customers globally.
In this role, you'll develop scalable data acquisition and transformation systems using modern cloud technologies (Snowflake, Databricks/Spark, AWS). You'll own significant portions of the data codebase, from ETL pipeline development to data warehouse optimization. Key responsibilities include building extraction, transformation, and loading processes from diverse data sources; implementing tenant data isolation and security; supporting data science platforms; and integrating AI solutions with Emburse products and analytics infrastructure.
You'll work cross-functionally with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to translate business requirements into robust data operations. The role emphasizes code quality, security (OWASP compliance), and technical documentation. You'll participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions.
Required qualifications: 4+ years of data engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in data pipelines, analytics systems, or data acquisition. Strong SQL and Python proficiency in production environments. Experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and workflow orchestration tools. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
