Salary: USD 95,500 - 138,550 / annual

Moody's is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, implement, and operate scalable ETL and ELT pipelines within its enterprise Databricks ecosystem. This role is part of the mission-critical Enterprise Data Platform (CORE) team, which powers one of the world's largest financial and company databases. Key Responsibilities: - Design and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and publish data across domains - Build and optimize data transformations and validations using Python, PySpark, Scala, and SQL - Implement configuration-driven pipeline frameworks to efficiently onboard and manage datasets - Ensure data products are structured, performant, and optimized for downstream consumption - Partner with stakeholders to define data contracts, schemas, SLAs, and quality standards - Apply best practices for data reliability, observability, and cost optimization - Contribute to CI/CD practices including automated testing, deployment, and promotion - Support data governance initiatives around data quality, lineage, and access controls Required Qualifications: - 5+ years of data engineering experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines - Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, Scala, and SQL - Proven experience designing or working with configuration- or metadata-driven data pipelines - Hands-on experience with Databricks-based data platforms - Solid understanding of data modeling, schema evolution, and large-scale dataset management - Experience deploying and operating data solutions in AWS and Azure - Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and automated workflows - Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools to streamline workflows - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) The role offers competitive compensation ($95,500–$138,550 base salary depending on experience and location), incentive compensation, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
