Rocket Companies is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data platforms and solutions that power analytics and operational decision-making across the organization. In this hybrid role based in Detroit, you will identify and resolve data quality issues, develop Extract-Load-Transform (ELT) processes from diverse data repositories and APIs, and ensure data security and reliability at scale.
Key responsibilities include building data integration solutions across on-premises and cloud data warehouses, developing relational and non-relational data models, writing complex SQL and NoSQL queries, and monitoring performance and scalability in a large-scale data lake environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver products and services that meet evolving business needs.
You bring a minimum of 5 years of experience building data solutions with relational and non-relational databases, plus 3 years analyzing data to identify gaps and inconsistencies. You are proficient in SQL/NoSQL, skilled at debugging and troubleshooting applications, and comfortable with functional or object-oriented programming languages. Experience with cloud services, batch and real-time data pipelines is essential.
Preferred qualifications include a degree in computer science or related field, 3+ years with big data tools (Python, Lambda), CI/CD and automated deployments, Linux system administration, shell scripting, and REST API development.
