Marti is Turkey's leading mobility platform, founded in 2018, offering ride-hailing services (cars, motorcycles, taxis) and a large fleet of shared electric micromobility (e-mopeds, e-bikes, e-scooters). The company operates proprietary software systems and IoT infrastructure to power its services across multiple transportation modes.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers Marti's applications and decision-making. Your core responsibilities include:
- Collecting data from various systems and establishing a single source of truth for Marti applications
- Designing and building scalable, reliable data pipelines and distributed systems that support multiple product lines
- Creating new patterns and frameworks to aggregate millions of raw data records into actionable metrics
- Monitoring data acquisition and processing to ensure systems are functioning correctly
- Collaborating closely with data analysts and data scientists to understand and meet their data requirements
- Identifying, documenting, and promoting data engineering best practices across the organization
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or similar quantitative discipline) and 3+ years of professional data engineering experience. You should have strong expertise in modern cloud-based data pipeline best practices, large-scale data warehousing architecture, data lake implementation, and data modeling.
Technical skills required: proficiency in Python (Scala/Java a plus), SQL and NoSQL databases, open-source data technologies (Flink, Spark, Kafka), cloud-based data warehouses (Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake), and orchestration frameworks (Apache Airflow, Argo Workflow).
Nice-to-have skills include AWS services (Athena, S3, Glue, Lambda), data lake table formats (Hudi, Iceberg, Delta Lake), DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
