Fudo is a restaurant operating system serving tens of thousands of restaurants across Latin America. The company provides management software, mobile applications, and payment processing platforms, with market leadership in Argentina and Chile and rapid expansion in Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil. All restaurant transactions—billing, payments, purchases, and sales—flow through Fudo's system.
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Technology team on a full-time basis, working either remotely or from our Buenos Aires office. You will collaborate with our data leadership to design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure required for efficient processing and analysis of large data volumes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with data analysis and data science teams to ensure data quality and analysis integrity
- Creating and maintaining data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage
- Identifying and resolving performance issues in data infrastructure; optimizing solution architecture
- Working with software developers and systems architects to ensure scalability and disaster recovery
- Enforcing data security policies and standards
- Staying current with emerging data engineering technologies and tools
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced studies in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and fix data infrastructure performance issues
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams (data scientists, software developers, systems architects)
- Proficiency reading and interpreting technical documentation in English
- Responsible, proactive, and self-sufficient work style
Desired experience:
- Scripting languages (Ruby, Python)
- API design and distributed architectures
- Internet protocols (DNS, HTTP, SSH, TCP/IP)
- Relational database configuration and optimization (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Data warehouse design and analytical databases (ClickHouse, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Open source contributions
