Salary: GBP 69,700 - 94,300 / annual
Clio is seeking an Intermediate Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering team in Manchester. This role is open to existing Clio employees transitioning from other roles who possess relevant skills and interests.
You will build data pipelines from scratch, design and maintain data transformation pipelines, and make datasets accessible to partner teams across the organization. The role involves implementing data ingestion (real-time and batch) using Azure technologies, consolidating various data sources into Data Lakes and Data Warehouses, and writing production-ready code.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing data ingestion and ETL/ELT processes using Azure technologies and modern data tools
- Designing, building, and maintaining data transformation pipelines and notebooks
- Collaborating with engineers to adopt best practices in data system creation, integrity, testing, and validation
- Developing prototype and proof-of-concept implementations for technically uncertain projects
- Building interactive reports for internal and customer consumption
- Ensuring data quality, documentation, and maintainability
You should have experience in software development and data engineering or analytics, with proficiency in cloud infrastructure (Azure), at least one major programming language (Python, Spark SQL, or Scala), and SQL. Experience with streaming and batch tools (Spark, Airflow), data warehousing (MS Fabric or similar), and visualization tools (Power BI) is valued. Strong collaboration and communication skills, self-motivation, and openness to feedback are essential.
