Paylocity is a fast-growing cloud-based HR and payroll software provider serving the modern workforce. As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimize data pipelines that support both analytical and operational use cases across the platform.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data integrity and security across storage and processing layers, and working with data warehousing technologies to support business intelligence initiatives. Key responsibilities include automating data processing tasks to improve efficiency and scalability, collaborating with data scientists and software engineers to integrate data solutions, and documenting your work for team knowledge sharing.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline, with 2+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or software development. You should be proficient in SQL and Python, with solid knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and distributed computing concepts. Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery is highly valued, as is familiarity with dbt for data transformation workflows.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate across technical teams. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Guadalajara, requiring the ability to work extended hours at a workstation and manage multiple software systems simultaneously.
