Cyera is building the security operating model for the age of AI, providing a unified control plane that secures data, access, and behaviors across humans, systems, and AI. The Activity Group owns Access Trail, Cyera's activity monitoring product that ingests and processes billions of enterprise activity events at high throughput, turning raw data into a trusted activity layer powering investigations, analytics, and AI-driven security capabilities. As a Senior Data Engineer on this team, you'll own the full data pipeline—from ingestion through high-throughput Spark and ClickHouse ETLs to data modeling and the analytical layer serving the product. You'll work with production infrastructure that enterprise customers depend on daily at serious scale, and help re-architect the processing layer as the system pushes past current limits. Key responsibilities include: partnering with product and engineering to translate strategic requirements into scalable data models and production pipelines; architecting and scaling multi-stage ETL pipelines that ingest and process billions of activity events while balancing quality, freshness, performance, and cost; building and optimizing distributed Spark workloads and analytical ClickHouse workloads; owning data modeling end-to-end to convert raw activity data from diverse sources into a trusted, unified model; championing data quality through validation, testing, and freshness monitoring; and monitoring and optimizing infrastructure spend across compute, storage, and orchestration. Required: 4+ years building and operating production data systems; strong SQL proficiency including complex transformations and performance optimization in columnar/OLAP databases (ClickHouse preferred); hands-on Spark or similar distributed processing at scale; proven experience designing high-throughput ETL/ELT pipelines with incremental processing patterns; strong data modeling and data-quality mindset; Python proficiency for pipeline development and automation; and strong communication skills to discuss technical tradeoffs and translate product needs. Preferred: production ClickHouse experience; streaming/messaging systems (Kafka); AWS data services (S3, EMR, Databricks, MWAA, ECS); CDC/replication tools (Debezium); third-party API integrations; multi-tenant data architectures; and exposure to data security, privacy, or compliance.
