Cordance is a B2B SaaS platform dedicated to accelerating the growth of vertically focused software companies through acquisition and operational guidance. The Data Architect will define and lead enterprise data architecture for Cordance Commerce, unifying reporting platforms, data models, and analytics capabilities across four product lines: Solutions, Secure Retail, Upright, and Pearl Dive.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for transforming fragmented operational data and customer-specific reporting into a scalable, governed, and reliable data platform. You will own the target-state data architecture and roadmap, assess current transactional databases and data pipelines, and establish a practical migration strategy that separates analytical workloads from transactional systems while protecting product performance and preserving critical customer reporting.
Key responsibilities include: defining a shared enterprise data model and canonical business definitions; designing the separation of transactional and analytical workloads using cloud data warehouse or lakehouse patterns (evaluating platforms like Snowflake); creating phased migration strategies for consolidating reporting across products; developing standards for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and data quality; partnering with BI professionals to rationalize reporting and enable self-service analytics; guiding database teams on PostgreSQL and SQL Server modernization; establishing data governance practices covering ownership, access controls, privacy, and security; leading technical discovery and vendor evaluations; and providing hands-on guidance to delivery teams to ensure new capabilities align with target architecture.
You will partner closely with Database Administrators, Business Intelligence professionals, Engineering, Product, Finance, Customer Success, and business leaders to enable trusted enterprise dashboards and cross-product reporting that support operational, customer, financial, and executive decision-making.
