Filevine is seeking a Data Annotation Team Lead to manage and develop a team of eight data annotators while partnering closely with Machine Learning, Legal Engineering, Product, and Engineering teams. This role combines people leadership, project management, and quality management responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a team of eight data annotators
- Creating and maintaining clear processes for data annotation workflows
- Ensuring high-quality output and consistency across annotation projects
- Collaborating with ML, Legal Engineering, Product, and Engineering teams to understand annotation requirements and priorities
- Building a supportive team environment based on trust, ownership, and open communication
- Managing project timelines and resource allocation
- Providing feedback and coaching to team members
- Identifying process improvements and implementing best practices
The ideal candidate brings experience in team leadership, data quality management, and cross-functional collaboration. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is critical, and you can balance process rigor with team morale. Experience in legal tech, data annotation, or similar quality-focused domains is a plus.
