Ashby is hiring its first Data Analytics Manager to lead a lean, high-performing analytics team during a critical growth phase. You will manage three Data Analysts (two core analysts and one focused on Revenue Operations) and partner closely with the Data Engineering function to evolve Ashby's data practices as the company scales.
The role centers on four core challenges: (1) identifying and hiring talented analysts who combine technical judgment, curiosity, communication, and ownership; (2) developing data practices and processes that enable a small team to do excellent work at scale, including prioritization, code review, knowledge sharing, and quality maintenance; (3) leading the team through specialization as Ashby grows across products, regions, and business functions, without creating siloed specialists; and (4) helping the team navigate AI's implications for analytical workflows, self-service analytics, and data accessibility.
At Ashby, Data Analysts are full-stack contributors who work across raw and modeled data, contribute to dbt models and metric definitions, conduct deep analysis, build dashboards, and collaborate directly with internal partners. Work flows through a standardized request process with triage, capacity assessment, and thoughtful prioritization rather than rigid SLAs or sprints. The team values principled thinking and recognizes that data is one tool among many for resolving uncertainty—not automatically the first step.
This is a player-coach role. You will remain hands-on with analytical work as you learn the business and team, maintaining close enough proximity to guide quality and mentor analysts. You should have exceptional analytical judgment, the ability to produce transparent and rigorous analysis with clear communication of assumptions and caveats, and strong visual and written communication skills. The ideal candidate can calibrate analysis depth to decision impact, bring readers through problem context and methodology, and help shape the Data function during a pivotal growth period.
