Sanity.io is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join its centralized Data & Analytics organization and drive high-impact analysis for Product and Engineering teams. You will partner closely with product managers and engineering leads to frame analytical questions, define requirements, and deliver insights that directly influence product strategy and roadmap decisions.
Key responsibilities include building cohort, funnel, and user journey analyses to understand customer adoption patterns and engagement with Sanity's AI-powered Content Operating System. You'll collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and documentation across datasets. You will define and maintain Sanity's north star and product health metrics (activation, engagement, retention) in partnership with stakeholders, serving as a single source of truth for measurement.
You'll own the development and maintenance of dashboards and self-service analytics that provide product teams with clear visibility into performance. Your role includes communicating findings persuasively to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership, translating data-backed recommendations into strategic decisions. You'll manage a mix of ad-hoc and planned analytical work while maintaining clear communication on timelines and progress.
Required qualifications: 4+ years in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or highly analytical roles with hands-on experience in product usage data, behavioral analytics, or event-level data at SaaS companies. Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling with proven ability to derive insights from complex datasets and create compelling visualizations. Familiarity with semantic layer BI tools (Omni, Looker), modern data stack tooling (dbt, Google BigQuery), and event instrumentation platforms (RudderStack, Segment). Fluency in core product analytics: cohort analysis, funnel and journey analysis, retention curves, and metrics like north star, activation, and engagement. Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, driving analytical work end-to-end. Excellent communication skills for presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences and navigating competing stakeholder priorities.
