VAST Data is a rapidly growing AI infrastructure company building the enterprise data platform for the AI era. The company provides data management software to capture, catalog, refine, and protect massive datasets for real-time analysis and AI training. The Data Analyst, Finance will join the analytics team to transform financial and SaaS data into actionable business insights. This is a hands-on role focused on building analytics solutions, dashboards, and reports that support Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Revenue Operations teams. Key responsibilities include: - Writing SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate financial and SaaS metrics data - Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data from multiple sources to support Finance and Revenue Operations objectives - Developing ad-hoc reports and analytics packages for business reviews - Building and maintaining Tableau dashboards to visualize financial metrics, trends, and performance - Delivering analytics that answer key business questions and drive improved outcomes - Identifying and resolving data quality gaps; maintaining documentation and data definitions - Using AI-assisted tools (Cursor, Claude) to accelerate SQL development and reduce manual work - Managing analytics work in Jira and collaborating cross-functionally to streamline data processes The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience as a data or financial analyst, with proficiency in SQL and Tableau. SaaS or Finance/Revenue Operations background is preferred. Familiarity with SaaS metrics (ARR, RPO, Customer Retention) is a plus. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Minimal travel (≤10% annually) is required.
