Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history, delivering empirical geospatial data via a cloud-based platform to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Data Team, working on geospatial and enterprise data modeling and analysis.
In this role, you will build data products and solutions including dashboards, self-service tooling, and data pipelines used across Planet to improve satellite collection performance, user experience research, business strategy, and customer satisfaction. You'll analyze and visualize data to drive insights on product, business, and operational problems, working with stakeholders across the business to define performance metrics. You will develop and own robust, accurate data models, maintain and improve existing ones, and build datasets into self-service tools using modern data tooling including git, dbt, Python, SQL, and Omni.
You'll contribute to a team of Data Scientists, Analysts, and Engineers through code reviews and collaborative discussions. This is a full-time hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in either the San Francisco or Arlington office.
Required qualifications: 4+ years of relevant data analytics experience, Bachelor's degree or technical certification, expertise in SQL and Python for data cleaning and aggregation, experience with git or version control, familiarity with enterprise cloud platforms, and demonstrated reliability in analytics work. Experience with geospatial data use cases is preferred.
Desirable experience includes the modern data stack (Fivetran, dbt, Looker/Omni/Sigma), enabling go-to-market teams with customer and financial data, and familiarity with GCP.
