Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history, delivering geospatial data via a cloud platform to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. The company controls every component from hardware design and manufacturing through data processing and software engineering. You will join the Data Team as a Data Analyst, working on geospatial and enterprise data modeling and analysis. Your responsibilities include analyzing and visualizing data to drive insights on product, business, and operational problems; collaborating with stakeholders to define performance metrics; developing and maintaining robust data models; building datasets into self-service tools using modern data infrastructure; and contributing to the team through code reviews and technical discussions. You'll leverage tools including SQL, Python, dbt, git, and Omni to build data products and solutions that improve satellite collection performance, user experience research, business strategy, and customer satisfaction. The role requires 4+ years of relevant experience with strong expertise in SQL and Python for data cleaning, aggregation, and analytics. You should have experience with version control, enterprise cloud platforms, and ideally familiarity with geospatial data use cases. This is a full-time hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in either the San Francisco, CA or Arlington, VA office.
