Moody's is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join the Cloud FinOps & AI Governance function within the Finance organization. This role is based in Gurugram, India and focuses on managing cloud cost transparency, billing accuracy, and financial reporting across the organization's multi-cloud environment.
Key responsibilities include managing FinOps data schemas across AWS, Azure, and GCP; producing executive-ready dashboards and cost summaries for business unit and leadership reviews; maintaining cloud resource tagging rules and identifying mis-tagged resources; performing invoice reconciliation for cloud and SaaS vendors; tracking optimization initiatives such as rightsizing and reserved instance coverage; and responding to ad-hoc data requests from senior stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, data operations, cloud billing, or analytics support roles with strong data management and attention to detail. Required technical skills include hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouses, Dataflows, Pipelines), SQL proficiency, and expertise with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau. Cloud cost management tool experience (Cloudability, CloudZero, CloudHealth) and familiarity with FinOps concepts (tagging, chargeback, showback, rightsizing, reserved instance management) are essential.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience with cloud billing exports from AWS, Azure, or GCP is required. Preferred qualifications include FinOps Certified Practitioner and/or FOCUS Training & Certification. Strong written English communication skills and experience working in cross-timezone environments with US-based stakeholders are important, preferably within financial services, technology, or data-intensive industries.
The role also requires demonstrated proficiency in AI concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency, plus awareness of AI risk management and commitment to responsible AI use. The team operates as a center of excellence for cloud and SaaS cost transparency, working closely with Finance, Technology, and Engineering leadership across Moody's.
