As a Customer Success Manager for Commercial customers, you will be the primary post-sales point of contact responsible for customer onboarding, implementation, and adoption. You will own the full customer lifecycle from day one, building relationships across multiple stakeholder levels (from technicians to CISOs) and driving measurable outcomes and time-to-value.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead technical onboarding for new customers, partnering with pre-sales and post-sales teams to understand requirements and formulate implementation plans
• Develop and maintain relationships with multiple customer stakeholders at varying technical and executive levels
• Collaborate with sales teams to identify renewal and expansion opportunities while actively managing churn risk
• Work with the Education team to ensure customers are trained on product features, best practices, and security principles
• Develop hands-on technical expertise in Chainguard products and stay current with industry trends and new features
• Act as the voice of the customer internally, advocating for customer needs to product, engineering, and other teams
• Partner with Technical Support and Customer Engineering to resolve customer issues promptly
This is a strategic, autonomous role where you will take full ownership of your customer portfolio, make key decisions to drive outcomes, manage escalations, and often build new processes to serve customers effectively. You will work closely with Solutions Architects, Technical Support, Product Management, Engineering, and Sales teams.
The company offers a remote-first culture with team meetups, bi-annual destination summits, flexible time off, 100% covered health insurance, stock options with a 10-year exercise window, and 18 weeks paid parental leave.
Requirements:
• 2+ years of customer-facing experience collaborating with both technical and business teams (Customer Success, Professional Services, Technical Account Management, or combination with Sales, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Support)
• Domain knowledge in one or more of: Supply Chain Security, DevSecOps, AppSec, security infrastructure, containers, regulatory compliance, vulnerability management, or software development lifecycle
• Strategic, proactive mindset with ability to take full ownership and act with high autonomy
• Entrepreneurial approach—willing to deviate from established procedures and build new processes as needed
• Strong commitment to continuous professional development
• Driven personality with high emotional intelligence and strong priority management skills
Strongly Preferred:
• Early-stage startup experience
• Passion for technology and cybersecurity
• Hands-on technical experience in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), containers, Linux, or related security domains
