Veeam is seeking a Customer Success Engineer with German language proficiency to drive long-term customer outcomes across the Veeam Data Platform. This is a mid-level, technically-focused role combining customer success, technical consulting, and account management.
You will serve as the primary technical owner for 5–50 Enterprise and Commercial-Named accounts ($100K+ ARR), leading onboarding, adoption, and optimization initiatives. Key responsibilities include configuring customer accounts, customizing backup policies and storage configurations, and facilitating stakeholder orientation. You'll identify migration opportunities by analyzing usage patterns and conducting success planning sessions that align business outcomes with product adoption.
The role emphasizes technical depth: you'll conduct disaster recovery assessments, build protection plans, recommend software architectures across the Veeam Data Platform, and run recovery simulations. You'll apply the Veeam Data Resilience Maturity Model (DRMM) to track resilience posture and deliver quarterly resilience reports. Proactively monitoring for churn signals, you'll define mitigation plans and partner with sales on renewal strategy with actionable technical insights.
You'll also build business cases, define total cost of ownership (TCO), and articulate value propositions for expansion. Executive engagement is critical—you'll communicate risk, status, and opportunity updates to CISO/CIO stakeholders and support context for strategic discussions. Collaboration extends to marketing-informed campaigns driving adoption and expansion.
Required: 5+ years in customer-facing engineering roles (Technical Consulting, Pre-Sales SE, Technical Account Manager) focused on data backup and recovery. Advanced English and German fluency. Hands-on expertise in operating systems, virtualization, storage, scripting/automation, cloud platforms, and DR&R best practices. VMCE certification required (may be completed post-hire). Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure certifications. Strong ability to translate business outcomes into technical adoption roadmaps, executive stakeholder engagement skills, and excellent cross-functional collaboration.
