Salary: USD 255,000 - 320,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking a Customer Marketing Manager for Special Projects to drive customer evidence strategy for the company's highest-priority initiatives. This role owns the customer storytelling function across regions and customer segments, ensuring that Anthropic's most important messages are backed by authentic customer voices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing customer evidence strategy for top company priorities, identifying which claims need customer proof, selecting the right customers, and closing gaps
- Conducting customer interviews and turning stories into multiple formats for different channels, often under compressed timelines
- Standing up new customer programs as company priorities shift, defining scope, customer lists, and execution plans
- Leading customer strategy for major model and product launches, from customer selection through how their voices appear in announcements
- Partnering with Brand and Creative teams to identify which customer stories anchor campaigns and how to tell them effectively
- Building proof-point libraries and sales enablement materials so account teams know which stories to use and when
- Shaping the customer narrative used by executives in keynotes, posts, and customer conversations
- Prioritizing competing customer requests across teams and working with Legal and Communications to approve high-profile stories
- Collaborating closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Brand, Communications, and customer marketing segment leads
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with a reporter's instinct for compelling stories. You'll work across teams without formal authority, balance multiple projects simultaneously, and have strong judgment about story readiness and quality.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read messaging documents and quickly identify what customer proof is needed and where gaps exist
- Strong writing and interviewing skills; ability to get customers to articulate specific, true statements and transform them into compelling narratives
- Experience supporting product launches and campaigns with customer proof, often on tight timelines
- Track record of building sales enablement materials that sales teams continue using after launch
- Comfort with technical products; ability to explain and write about what customers built and why it matters in plain language
- Ability to work across many teams without formal authority and make sound judgment calls about scope and priorities
- Experience moving between diverse projects, sometimes within the same week
- Current user of Claude for drafts and interview preparation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years in B2B marketing with experience in both product marketing and customer marketing
- Background in AI or developer tools
- Journalism or editorial background
- Product Marketing or Messaging experience
- Experience writing keynotes or LinkedIn posts for executives
- Experience running message testing or win/loss interviews
- Experience working with Communications or analyst relations on customer-featured announcements
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience in a field relevant to the role.
Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco or New York City, with expectation of in-office presence at least 25% of the time (some roles may require more).
