HackerRank Films is an in-house studio in Indiranagar, Bangalore that tells the story of how AI is reshaping the economy and HackerRank's role in it. Content is distributed across HackerRank's LinkedIn, the Hackonomics YouTube channel, and the CEO's personal voice on X. In this role, you will own the creative narrative across multiple formats and channels. You will write long-form, well-researched pieces; craft X posts with compelling hooks and clear rationale; develop video scripts for Hackonomics that capture attention in the first two seconds; and author founder posts that sound authentically like the founder while making complex technical concepts (agents, assessments, AI hiring economics) land for both engineers and C-suite executives without sacrificing accuracy. You will lead a small, senior team of 1–2 writers and a pool of freelancers. You set the bar for voice, taste, and editorial standards. This is a high-craft operation, not a content factory. You own the voice and do not write by committee. Key responsibilities include: - Writing narrative-driven long-form content on tech, AI, and engineering culture - Creating short-form social content with strong hooks and clear reasoning - Developing video scripts that earn viewer attention immediately - Translating technical and business concepts into accessible, compelling prose for mixed audiences - Leading a small editorial team and setting quality standards - Managing freelance contributors What you will NOT do: run paid media campaigns, manage SEO keyword farms, oversee marketing operations, manage a large content factory, write by committee, or work remotely. This is a fully in-office, every-day role in Bengaluru. Qualifications: - Proven track record writing well about technology (dev tools, AI, engineering culture, or related domains) - Demonstrated range across formats: long-form essays (1,200+ words), short posts (12 words), and video scripts (30 seconds) — all executed at high quality - Strong editorial taste and judgment; ability to identify the one compelling detail in routine updates that will stop a developer mid-scroll - Proficiency with AI tools (Claude Code cited as default); ability to articulate where AI assisted and where you overruled it - Experience leading small creative teams or managing editorial voice - Deep familiarity with tech and developer audiences
