Elliptic is the leader in digital asset decisioning, providing the most comprehensive platform for extracting crypto data and intelligence across blockchains. As a Cryptocurrency Intelligence Analyst, you'll play a key role in expanding and enriching one of Elliptic's most important intelligence products, helping customers gain visibility into the global crypto ecosystem and make smarter, safer decisions.
You'll be part of a passionate Intelligence team trusted by law enforcement, financial institutions, and crypto platforms worldwide. Your work will directly power risk detection, entity screening, and verification workflows at scale. By identifying and profiling virtual asset service providers (VASPs), custodians, and exchanges, you'll help increase transparency and accountability across crypto.
Key responsibilities include researching and documenting cryptoasset service providers to expand Elliptic products; analyzing blockchain and off-chain data to identify key risk indicators and assess how crypto businesses operate within or outside global regulatory frameworks; applying AML concepts such as ownership structures, compliance controls, licensing status, and jurisdictional risk to profile entities accurately; and collaborating with the Intelligence Team to link real-world entities to their blockchain representation.
In your first six months, you'll ramp up on Elliptic's data and tools, own a steady caseload of entity research, apply AML concepts with minimal oversight, take on more complex cases and develop a specialty, spot coverage and process improvements, and take ownership of automated pipeline design and maintenance for VASP coverage processes.
You should be detail-oriented, thorough, and motivated by meaningful work that contributes to public good. You'll actively use AI in your day-to-day work and have experience creating scheduled tasks for recurring processes. Ideal candidates have demonstrated interest in cryptoassets, financial crime, compliance, or international finance through education or work experience; basic understanding of AML concepts; comfort navigating structured and unstructured data; and proactive communication skills for a global team spanning Singapore, London, and Washington DC.
Bonus qualifications include familiarity with VASPs and major crypto exchanges, experience with open-source intelligence (OSINT), knowledge of global AML frameworks, and academic or practical experience in international relations, investigative journalism, compliance, or economics.
