SoFi is a next-generation financial services company and national bank using mobile-first technology to serve millions of members across lending products including student loan refinance, personal loans, credit cards, and mortgages. The Credit Strategy Manager will join the Credit team, which manages credit risk activities and designs data-driven strategies to ensure lending growth aligns with the company's risk appetite.
In this role, you will analyze and evaluate data to develop and propose credit risk strategies and models for SoFi's lending products. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Units, Capital Markets, Product, and Engineering to drive revenue, control risk, and deliver value to the company and consumers.
Key responsibilities include architecting pre-screen and underwriting strategies, leveraging a real-time data ecosystem with internal, bureau, third-party, and alternative data sources. You'll conduct sophisticated analysis using customer performance data and bureau attributes to solve business problems, monitor strategy and portfolio performance, document and communicate results, and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
You'll need 4+ years of related experience in consumer lending credit strategy, with direct experience in the credit strategy analytical lifecycle including strategy development, presentation, implementation, validation, and post-implementation monitoring. Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Python is required, along with expertise in analytical techniques such as decision trees, regression, logistic regression, A/B testing, and Tableau. You should demonstrate the ability to synthesize and communicate complex analysis to business partners and senior management, with high motivation to drive results in a collaborative, fluid environment.
Preferred qualifications include 4+ years of consumer lending credit strategy work, experience analyzing and testing credit strategies to meet fair lending requirements, and an advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
