Monzo is a fintech company on a mission to make money work for everyone, offering personal and business bank accounts, credit cards, savings, investments, and pensions in the UK. The Borrowing collective is growing across Personal Loans and Financial Health, building innovative lending products with greater transparency and customer control. In this role, you'll develop and optimize unsecured credit risk and pricing strategies, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to build profitable portfolios and outstanding customer experiences. You'll work on initiatives to improve credit underwriting, boost growth, and manage portfolio risk by finding patterns in data and translating them into actionable insights. Key responsibilities include: monitoring performance of existing lending strategies and iterating to improve them; working alongside engineering, marketing, product, risk, and control teams to design and deliver product changes; developing, maintaining, and monitoring credit models to assess net present value of new lending cohorts; building and maintaining database tables and dashboards for data-driven decisions; supporting the design and rollout of new products and customer journeys; and assessing how lending portfolios will perform over time. You should have experience in unsecured retail lending (personal loans, credit cards, overdrafts, BNPL), understanding of how the unsecured retail lending market works and pricing dynamics' impact on portfolio performance, and knowledge of lending economics and underwriting strategy development. Strong analytical and data capabilities are essential, with SQL as a must-have, Python and Looker as valuable additions. UK lending regulations knowledge, project management experience, and strong communication skills are important. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are keen to improve products and ship changes to customers. Monzo values flexibility and wellbeing, with main tech hub in London but data teams across the UK. There's no pressure to come into the office; work in a way that fits your life.
