As Counsel in the Product Legal team, you will be a key member of the global legal organization supporting Airwallex's rapid growth across an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. Based in New York, you will have multi-regional responsibility, advising on product strategy, partnership agreements, and technology transactions globally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as thought partner to the Strategic Partnership team, supporting negotiations on complex agreements with strategic partners
- Provide legal advice to product, local legal teams, and senior management on regulatory and commercial matters
- Coordinate with local counsel across jurisdictions to identify optimal market entry paths from legal and regulatory perspectives
- Liaise with senior stakeholders across the Airwallex global organization
- Manage external counsel and consultants on regulatory matters
You will need strong stakeholder management skills, versatility in supporting product teams and commercial negotiations, and the ability to master new areas of law quickly. The role requires 5+ years of legal experience at top firms or in-house, with strong drafting and communication skills. In-house fintech experience and subject-matter expertise in payments, card networks, or banking are preferred. You should be proactive, results-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
